I propose that the games for the Thomas Adams Plaque to coincide with the anticipated return of the trade ship. To celebrate our purchase of radio equipment, a team from the ship will be invited to compete, making 8 in total. If we can fit in two games per day, we can ensure that this team only needs to remain on the island for three days at a maximum. Below is the proposed schedule for this year's Plaque:
04/09/2014 - White vs. Anderson 04/09/2014 - Adams vs. Richardson 05/09/2014 - Harrison vs. Morgan 05/09/2014 - McIntyre vs. Trade ship
06/09/2014 - Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 2 06/09/2014 - Winner Game 3 vs. Winner Game 4
07/09/2014 - Winner Game 5 vs. Winner Game 6
This means the competition will return to a single-match format for the first time since 1965. I hope this is ok with everybody.

It will be a real shame if we have to change back to single matches, I prefer the best-of-3. This would mean that the quarter finals will take 6 days, the semi-finals will be 3 days, and the final 2 days. This would be a very long time for the ship to remain on the island, although with some clever scheduling, this could be reduced to a week rather than 11 days. I think if we begin on the 1st, then when the ship arrives on the 5th, we can play that afternoon and the following day, with all previous matches already being completed..

Well unfortunately, we missed the trade ship, so we won't be able to have an eighth team, however, this does now mean we can continue with the best-of-3 format of previous years. Here is the amended schedule:

18/09/2014 - McIntyre vs. Winner Match 1, Game 1 18/09/2014 - Winner Match 2 vs. Winner Match 3, Game 1 19/09/2014 - McIntyre vs. Winner Match 1, Game 2 19/09/2014 - Winner Match 2 vs. Winner Match 3, Game 2 20/09/2014 - McIntyre vs. Winner Match 1, Game 3 20/09/2014 - Winner Match 2 vs. Winner Match 3, Game 3

This seems much better than the previous suggestion! It's a shame we missed the boat, but this is the best format, so AYE!

Ooh, much better now we get a bye to the semi-final! Of course I'm joking, but I still say AYE.
